This right here is one of THE best gifts that I have ever received. It doesn’t look like very much on the surface however it contains 10 trendy and popular perfume samples. Once you have tried them all you take the scent certificate (which is included in the box) to Shoppers Drug Mart for a full sized bottle of your favorite one.

I had a really hard time choosing between a few of them and there was only one of them I would never buy. Before continuing on with this review though I have to point out that I am not one for heavy heavy scents. I am also partial to fruity smells when it comes to what blends in well with my skin and there are only a couple of floral scents that will tickle my nose hairs.

So with all that in mind here is how the 10 fragrances measured up in my opinion.

I was no stranger to this perfume when I first opened up the box. As a matter of fact I honestly thought this would be the one that I ended up in the end. It was close call but another stole my senses. I had received this perfume as a tester from Influenster a year ago and immediately fell in love. VIVA LA JUICY is filled with an aura of wild berries, oranges, vanilla, caramel, jasmine, sandlewood and praline. I picture this scent being popular amongst young fashionistas who like designer products. Not to say that this is me or anything (because I am more of the sporty gal) but again I really like fruity smells and this offers its fair share.

ACQUA DI GIOIA was the second perfume I tested out of the ten. It’s name, which is translated as “water of joy” pretty much captures the essence of the perfumes scent. ACQUA DI GIOIA has tones of water jasmine, brown sugar and primofiore lemon. I would chose to wear this perfume out on the beach or even while walking a nature trail. It’s got quite the natural smell to it and does not come off as strong. I can picture a woman with youthful spirit wearing ACQUA DI GIOIA. I really liked this one.

Day 3 and it’s time for some LIGHT BLUE from Dolce&Gabbana. I liked this one immediately. It has a bit of a sweet smell to it. It has Sicilian Citron, Bluebell, Granny Smith Apple, Jasmine Sambac, Bamboo, White Rose, Cedarwood, Amber, Musk. Quite like the Acqua Di Gioia I would chose this scent for any of my outdoor adventures. It’s lightly scented and the smell lasts for quite some time.

Day 4 and ready for some more. I had to smell this one twice at first. It was truly different from what I expected. With hints of black coffee, vanilla and white flowers your nose is tickled with a warm and spicy scent. This is definitely one for women who are confident and unique. For those who aren’t afraid to stand out in a crowd this is for you. BLACK OPIUM was also Allure’s Best Of Beauty Award Winner.

It’s time for Day 5’s and my favorite of the bunch. It has somewhat of a grown up vanilla smell to it. I liked it right away ! With notes of white musks, benzoin and caramel accord it was hard not to like it. I had smelt this before as a sample for product testing a while back and therefore had some idea of what I was in for. I still can’t believe how well this perfume blends with my skin. This has the most unique smell out of them all so far.

Onto day 6 with this lovely pinkish eau de parfum spray from DKNY called STORIES. STORIES most certainly tells a story once you take your first sniff. Inspired by New York City this is a spray that is filled with many different tones. It’s floral and fruity. It has Vanilla Bean, Pink Peppercorn, Jasmine Sambac, Pink Pepper, Pink Guava Mousse, Black Cardamon, White Tea, Black Iris, White Sandlewood and Grey Amber Accord. I found it to be a soft scent which I could best describe as ‘It smells pretty’.

Here we go, it’s day 7 on this smellerific journey. Another pinkish eau de parfum for me to enjoy. It is another soft scented tester that has Julia Roberts as one of it’s spokespersons. LA VIE EST BELLE which translates into ‘Life Is Beautiful’ is a great name for this fragrance. I picture an elegant woman wearing this perfume. It’s key notes are Praline, Vanilla and Iris with a touch of Patchouli. I liked the smell of this one but I am not sure that I would dig deep into my wallet to purchase it.

Day 8, Day 8 !!! The name says it all, it’s a floral scent. It’s filled with Cyrstallized Cloudberries, Daisy Tree Petals, Cashmere and Driftwood. I kind of liked this one however it’s more for a younger person in my opinion. My 19 year old neice absolutely loved it. The scent lasts for a long time. I’m thinking of getting it for her this Christmas, it should be a hit.

Almost there it’s Day 9, Woot Woot. Time to try Calvin Klein’s EUPHORIA FOR HER. I really liked this perfume. It was one of my faves out of the 10 samples. It is filled with different floral notes. What I found interesting was that there is a note of Pomegranate in this perfume. There is also Persimmon, Black Orchid, Champaca Flower, Lotus Blossom, Green Notes, Liquid Amber, Cream Accord, Black Violet and Mahogany wood. It has a strong enough scent but it is not overpowering by any means. I would say that it is a bit more of a seductive scent. Like I said previously I really liked it.

And….. Day 10 has arrived, it’s time to test the last perfume. This is honestly one perfume that I would never find myself wearing even if I had sweat dripping out of every pore in my body. The second this scent hit my nose hairs I coughed. It was an initial reaction that actually caused my body to reject it with that cough. It did have THE coolest bottle of them all being that of a high heel shoe. Other than that I liked nothing about it. It’s key notes are Tuberose, Jasmine and Tonka Bean. I really have nothing great to say about Carolina Herrera’s GOOD GIRL. I mean the name Carolina is pretty cool wink wink but yeah I didn’t like it at all.

I went with PRADA – CANDY !!! It was tough to chose between this one and JUICY COUTURE’S VIVA LA JUICY. On Day 11 I sprayed them on seperate wrists for the day. I alternatly smelled them from time to time and made my decision that way. I thought it was going to be a lot harder than it actually was to pick but CANDY stood out a bit more for it’s uniqueness.

If you swing by Shoppers in the near future and are looking for a new scent to start wearing I would highly suggest giving these samplers a try. It’s well worth the time not to mention it’s kind of fun as well.
